Submitting a Leave Request (for Employees)
Using HR Partner to submit a Leave Request and enter in a request for any type of Annual Leave or Holiday time is incredibly easy and most likely one of the most commonly used areas of the Employee Portal!
Any Leave Request that you submit in HR Partner will go directly over to your Supervisor (or another Admin User, depending on how your Organisation's processes may work) for review and approval.
Submitting a New Leave Request
Start by logging into your Employee Portal and clicking on the Time Off & Leave module of your Navigation Menu, and then select the 'Requests' option from the dropdown. Once you're in the Requests page, you will see a list of your historical leave requests. Select the '+Add Time Off/Leave Request' icon on the right-hand side of the page.

You can also click on the Request Time-Off button in the Shortcuts menu on your Dashboard (if this is displayed).

Once you're in your Leave Request Form, you will see who your leave request will be sent to (or you may need to select who to send the Leave Application to, depending on your setup). You will need to select the Leave Type, the Dates, and then add a Short Description (e.g., 'Family holiday' or 'Have to visit sick Aunt', etc. This will appear on your leave calendar that managers can see).
Many Organisations will choose to have the Duration automatically populate based on how your Leave Policy may be configured, but it's always a good idea to double-check the Duration as well!
Click on Submit at the bottom to submit and send over your Leave Request.

Can I submit a Leave Request for a partial day or half day?
Maybe you are in the middle of submitting a Leave Request, and you need to request only a partial day off. To submit a partial or half-day off, or even a few hours at a time, click on the Calculator icon to the right of the Duration section.

The Calculator icon will open up a separate window that allows you to "Specify Duration" or to request time off in exact hours (even minutes!) instead of a full day. This makes it easy to request partial days or half days. Please remember that your Admin User will still have the ability to edit your request based on your own Organisation's Leave Policy and guidelines.

Once you click on Save at the bottom, the Duration will again automatically calculate the estimated time in a decimal point format to the equivalent days or hours based on what you have requested.

Deleting a Leave Request
Perhaps you've accidentally submitted a Leave Request and now the dates of your time off have changed. As long as the Leave Request has not been Actioned (meaning that the Admin User has not already Approved or Rejected the request), you can go to your Time Off/Leave Requests history page and click on the red Delete Request button to delete the request entirely and start fresh.

If there is not a Delete Request button available, this means that the Leave Request has already been Approved, Rejected or Actioned in some way by the Admin User and you are not able to delete it or make any further changes. Please contact your Supervisor or Admin User to delete the request on your behalf and they will be able to make changes for you.
