Custom Contact Types

We already give you a large number of options for Contact Types for your employees, for example, Phone numbers, Email addresses, WhatsApp IDs, Facebook links etc.

But sometimes we realise that you might have another type of contact point that you wish to record for your employees, say, a Telegram or Signal address, or similar.

You can create new Contact Types for your employees by going to Setup > Configure > Categories, and scrolling down to the very bottom of the right hand column.

Here you can add as many custom contact types as you like, including choosing the icon that will be associated with that contact type.

Now when you go to add a contact against an employee, you can scroll to the bottom of the Contact Types list to see the custom contacts that you have added for your company.

Your custom contacts are treated in the same way as any other contact, in that you can make them visible or hidden on the Employee Portal directory and add extra details that might be useful when others see that contact info.

NOTE: The only thing you cannot do with Custom Contacts is to make them a Primary Contact for your employees. This is reserved only for built-in Email and Mobile contact types.
