Entering Timesheet Notes
The 'Notes' feature within Timesheet module allows admins, managers and employees in your company to enter notes for each other in order to ensure that correct information is gathered, and any confusion is minimized:
When you click the 'Save' button, the note will get saved against this particular timesheet in this sequence.
NOTE: Your employees won't actually get a notification that a note has been entered, unless the 'Needs Review' status has been selected.
You (and your employees) will know if a note has been entered against any entry when you look at the list of timesheets and see this icon:
Hovering over this icon with the mouse will show a pop up with the last message entered, which is useful to see if there have been any updates on the conversation without having to open the timesheet:
Employees will also have the option to enter notes on their ESS portal when filling in their timesheet, and all participants will be able to check past notes by clicking the little arrow under the 'Note History' section:
At this stage notes cannot be edited or deleted after entry, as we like to keep a continuous audit trail of the conversations in case there is a query later. This may change in the future though.
