Exporting Timesheet Data
If you wish to export your Timesheet data, you have multiple possibilities which stem from two main options; (1) exporting directly from the Sequence itself, or (2) generating a Timesheet report. Each of these possibilities are outlined below.
Option 1) Export from the Timesheet Sequence
When building your timesheet template, you have the ability to select an "Export Format":
Your options here are CSV, TSV, JSON or XML file types.
NOTE: Many customers opt for a CSV as their preferred export format; this presents as a spreadsheet and is the universal standard that almost all systems understand. TSV, while also presenting as a spreadsheet, is an older and less commonly used format which uses tabs to separate fields rather than the commas used in a CSV. JSON and XML file types are more modern ways of transferring data between systems and can handle more complex information. These can be used to transfer data between two systems via an API integration, however they could be difficult for a less technical individual to decipher.
Once you've selected your file type, you will be able to head to Timesheets > Sequences and "View" the relevant sequence:
When in the sequence you will see the "Sequence Actions" button on the bottom right, clicking that button will present you with the option to "Export Data" :
Your export will then open up in a new window!
Option 2) Generate a Timesheet Report
You also have the ability to run reports on almost every module within HR Partner, and that includes Timesheets! To do this, head to Reports in the main menu on the left hand side of your Admin Portal and the report dashboard will open, from there, select "Timesheets":
When the Timesheet report options is open, you will see a wide range of filters such as selecting specific employees, dates and timesheet templates:
After you've made your selection, you can hit "Save" on the bottom right so that you can return to the same report with the same filters on a future date.
On the bottom left, you have a "Print" button. Clicking this will pull your data as a PDF, whereas hitting the arrow beside the "Print" button allows you to export your data as either a CSV or JSON file:
